Head of the VAT Department at the Directorate of Internal Revenue (RSK) from 1988 to 1991, and Office Manager of the VAT and Supervision Department at the Reykjavík Tax Office from 1991 to 1993. Deputy Director of Internal Revenue from 1993 to 1999. Has been a partner at Lögfræðistofa Reykjavíkur since 1999.
Chairman of the Board of Iceland GeoSurvey (ÍSOR) since 2003. Member of the Appeals Committee on Hygiene and Pollution Control since 2004. Member of the Municipal Council of Seltjarnarnes from 2002 to 2010. Alternate member of the Appeals Committee under the Act on Official Supervision of Financial Activities (Act No. 87/1998).
